We are delighted to announce that WT Architecture have been appointed to work on the redevelopment of The Crook Inn, in Tweedsmuir. We will be working as part of a wider design team that includes David Narro Associates, Max Fordham, McLeod & Aitken and Stephen Newsom Architect. This follows the fantastic news that the Tweedsmuir Community Company have had their application for Development Funding accepted by Big Lottery. We look forward to embarking on this important and exciting project to bring life back to an historic community building in the Scottish Borders. From August through to January we will be holding a series of workshops to develop design proposals and we hope that as many people as possible will be able to be involved.
The 400-year old Crook Inn was closed in 2006, and has since been the subject of a vigorous local campaign to secure community ownership of the building and its land. The 'Save The Crook' appeal successfully achieved its fundraising goals to buy the hotel in 2012.
