March has seen work starting on our extension and alteration project to a cottage in the Cairngorm National Park. The first and most gratifying move was to demolish the ghastly two-storey existing extension and its associated connecting 'bridge'. The original L-shaped cottage is now finally given some breathing space, ready to receive our folded zinc and timber extension. Old buildings often reveal hidden treasures; the contractors have already found a very well preserved 1901 edition of the Scotsman newspaper, complete with articles detailing the action unfolding on the front of the Boer War!
We looking forward to working for the first time with Colin Lawson Builders, of nearby Grantown-on-Spey, as the construction work progresses throughout 2017.
