CARL FLOHR
Architectural Assistant
Carl joined the WT Architecture team in January 2025 following the completion of his Part I Architectural Studies at the University of Edinburgh. Since joining, he has contributed to early design stages across a variety of projects, gaining valuable insight into the practical realities of the profession. Carl was attracted by the variety, detail and quality of work accomplished at WT Architecture, as well as the dramatic and highly sensitive environments the practice commit to build in.
His passion for travel and languages has exposed him to a range of cultures and architectural influences. A standout experience during his studies was an Erasmus year in Graz, Austria, which deepened his understanding of construction and theory. His final-year dissertation—based on five key ‘glimpses’ from travels in Vietnam—explored the relationship between people, history and architecture at a given moment and place. Carl has also spent some time within the practical realms of the construction industry; completing a stint working as an apprentice in a joinery company in Italy and taking on laboring jobs throughout the Covid Pandemic alongside his studies. Outside of work, Carl turns to the outdoors; exploring Scotland’s beautiful landscapes, playing sports and music.
