JEN LOVE

Jen joined WT Architecture as a student in 2014 and has worked across a number of different projects from private residential to community buildings. Her work spans from early concept design to running projects on site and is currently focused on leading a couple of the practice’s extension and retrofit projects, alongside a more extensive public building venture.

Prior to qualifying as an Architect in 2020, Jen studied at the University of Edinburgh’s School of Architecture graduating with a distinction in 2017. Her studies focused on inner city communities, co-design and adaptability, working on projects based in Edinburgh, the Hebrides, and European cities. Her Masters thesis project based in Copenhagen ‘The Age of Loneliness, A Silent Epidemic’ explored intergenerational living and learning, and contributed to a research project looking at age-friendly places which was funded by the UK Research Council’s Lifelong Health and Wellbeing programme. Between 2018-2021, Jen co-curated WT Architecture's film series, ASPECT:Cinema, which aimed to connect our practice with other creative communities and explore what design and space can mean to all of us through the art of film-making.

Jen is interested in craftsmanship and materiality, and enjoys working closely with clients and contractors to create high quality and considered buildings that are designed for their specific landscape and need. Outside of the studio, Jen is able to expand on her knowledge of construction while taking on her own self-build renovation of an old railway cottage in the Scottish Borders to create a family home.
