Architectural Assistant

Hatty joined WT Architecture in June as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant, following her graduation from the University of Edinburgh. During her studies, she developed a strong interest in the relationship between material and craft, exploring how architecture can reveal the stories embedded within landscapes.

Drawn to WT Architecture by its commitment to craftsmanship, contextual design and the Scottish landscape, Hatty has enjoyed contributing to projects that celebrate the character and identity of place. Alongside architecture, she maintains a broad creative practice centred on drawing, ceramics and model-making, believing that working by hand is fundamental to understanding materials and the built environment.

Much of her inspiration comes from Scotland’s coastlines and islands, where an enduring fascination with archaeology, Neolithic landscapes and vernacular architecture continues to shape both her architectural thinking and artistic work. She is currently developing a series of artworks inspired by the waters of the Firth of Forth, while also writing a book exploring the architecture and atmosphere of the National Museum of Scotland.
