This study was commissioned by Kirkcaldy Town Centre Managers to draw together the disparate threads of potential developments in the town, into a coherent vision. William Tunnell was appointed along with fellow practice Cadell2 and landscape architects Gros Max. The Team developed a comprehensive Urban Framework identifying sites for key projects and strategies for particular areas.
Key projects identified included the development of a linear seafront park, a new pedestrian route linking the train station through to the bus station and the High Street beyond, a new art gallery and the development of a ‘Cultural Campus’ in the town. The final framework document was undertaken by Cadell2, with William Tunnell acting as consultant.
