A self-build retrofit for a family home

Our Portobello project involved the retrofit and restoration of a Category B-listed Georgian villa in Portobello, Edinburgh. Our clients were keen to celebrate the character of the house while creating a sustainable home for their young family. The brief was to preserve as many original features as possible while improving the internal layout and construction to create a more spacious, practical and comfortable family home. The clients realised the project through an ambitious self-build process, working closely with a local contractor and a trusted team of craftspeople throughout.
