Tamsin Cunningham has been working alongside Wil since WT Architecture was founded in 2006, and since then she has delivered numerous award-winning domestic and public projects for the practice. Tamsin has been instrumental in shaping our engagement with community-led projects, acting as Project Architect on Coroghon Barn on Canna, Iona Village Hall on Iona, the Isle of Luing Place Plan and An Crùbh community hub on Skye. She has also led a number of private and commercial projects including the White House, Sorisdal House, the Forth Bridge Experience Visitor Centre and design stages for Iona Craft Shop & Studio and Sand House. Tamsin became an Associate in 2010. She is based in Mid Argyll, from where she works on the west coast, Highland and Hebridean projects which form the focus of her work for WTA.
Tamsin has a keen interest in the relationship between architecture, place and landscape with her work at WTA focussing on rural sites and the ways in which architecture can foster a sense of belonging. From 2016-2021 Tamsin served as part of the judging panel for the Saltire Society’s awards for housing in Scotland.
Outside of WTA Tamsin is an artist and writer. She has also worked on a number of multi-disciplinary art projects including co-founding arts collective Open Close, working as a creative director of the Tayos project and most recently working as a creative champion for the Argyll Coast and Islands Hope Spot.
