In June 2012 we completed our new offices by the old harbour in South Queensferry. We wanted to make sure that our space to work was an exercise in practising what we preach: a space that makes the most of its connection to place and is light, comfortable and set out in a way that truly supports our team in their work. The reconfiguration of the spaces provides greater working, meeting and storage space for our growing team and nurtures the idea of break out space, prioritising places to sit and draw, take phone calls and generally make sure that there is time for escape from computer screens!
We wanted the studios to foster creativity and craftsmanship, bringing inspiration from our library of materials and books into the heart of studio life and utilising the skills of talented makers and fabricators. We are hugely grateful to the team from Umber & Ochre for their work in bringing our designs to life and relished the opportunity to collaborate on with their team and sub-contractors.
